Rain Barrels

Rain Barrels are connected to your downspout, they hold the storm water that is collected from the roof. This water then can be harvested and used for watering gardens and plants.

It only takes 1/4 inch of rainfall to fill a standard rain barrel (55gal). The water collected is "soft water and works great for house plants along with other tropical house plants.

Advantages:

  • Reduces the volume of water flowing into the local lakes, rivers and their water sheds. Also reduces urban runoff.
  • Provides a backup water source for times of drought.
  • Saves money on water bills.
